We proudly began our journey by supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya, ensuring they received basic needs and school fees, all while fostering loving care through matched sponsorships with Dream Sponsors, Inc.
Born from an inspiring volunteer trip to Kenya in 2006, our founder, Carla Neumann, an American psychotherapist, was moved by the heart-wrenching stories of parentless children. One such story was that of Mashariki Fiston Kahindo, who, after unimaginable hardships, found refuge through sponsorship and achieved remarkable success, earning his Bachelor's and MBA in the USA! Together with co-founder Kahindo, we established Dream Sponsors as a 501(c)3 organization, committed to providing essential needs and education for orphans and vulnerable youth.
Alongside dedicated experts like Lexy Sanguinetti and Roberts Omolo, we recognized the urgent need to empower girls facing overwhelming challenges in Africa. During a transformative volunteer trip in 2018, the team immersed themselves in Maasai culture, learning about the struggles faced by African females. With an alarming rise in girl-child pregnancies during the pandemic, we knew we had to expand our mission. Thus, the My Girl TRIBE™ initiative was launched, focusing on science-based female empowerment and inner wellness education, making a profound impact in four African countries!
Having served children through sponsorship for over a decade, Dream Sponsors has seen the needs, circumstances, and socioeconomic environment change both for our beneficiaries and their direct sponsors. Our organization is committed to adapting to any changes we face and serving as many of the world's most vulnerable youth as possible. We've started incorporating training, guidance, and program development projects designed to collectively reach and empower larger numbers of beneficiaries through groups, schools, and organizations.
